About Anstey Morris
Anstey Morrismen are a men's cotswold morris side, which means we perform traditional English morris dances in the style that mostly came originally from the 'cotswold' region of the South Midlands. We perform a number of dances from several traditions: Adderbury, Bidford-upon-Avon, Fieldtown, Bledington, Bucknell, Bampton, Ilmington and Lichfield. Anstey Morrismen are members of The Morris Ring. The Morris Ring
Anstey Morrismen are proud to be sponsored by Everards of Leicestershire, a local family business based in Leicestershire. Everards of Leicestershire is famous for its excellent ales including Tiger, Beacon Hill, Sunchaser and Old Original. Everards of Leicestershire
Believe it or not we do practice regularly. During the spring and summer months we dance out at a different pub every Wednesday night. During the winter months we meet to rehearse at The Church Rooms on Church Lane in Anstey at around 8:00pm. We generally retire to The Old Hare and Hounds at around 10:00pm. The first Wednesday in each month from November is designated as an Open Practice, so why not come along and have a go? Map
We are always on the lookout for new members, both dancers and musicians. No experience is necessary. If you would like to join Anstey Morrismen, just come along to one of our events or practices and have a chat with some of the lads.
Book us to perform
If you would like Anstey Morrismen to perform at your event please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. The price will vary depending on the type of event, time, place, location, etc... Please try to contact us as well in advance of the event as possible, as it can take a lot of time to contact all the members of the side in order to determine whether or not we will have enough dancers and musicians available.
